Nevada Farm Bureau
Who We Are & What We Do

Who We Are: Nevada Farm Bureau is Nevada's largest farmer and rancher organization. As a general farm/ranch organization, we are involved with the entire scope of agriculturally-related issues and points of concern in our state.

What We Do: Nevada Farm Bureau is an advocacy group, promoting the interests of Nevada farm and ranch families by seeking to implement Farm Bureau policy positions. Implementation of Farm Bureau public policy is carried out in various forums including regulatory and legislative bodies.

Nevada Farm Bureau is a highly active participant in our state's legislative sessions and also is involved with both state and national regulatory agencies.

Nevada Farm Bureau is thoroughly involved in the promotion of our state's agricultural industry with the general public. A major emphasis in this regard is demonstrated with projects like Agriculture In The Classroom. This project consists of an industry-wide effort to inform school children and educators about agriculture and to advance an improved understanding with these particular groups about the origins of their food and fiber.

Our Members: Thirteen county Farm Bureau organizations constitute the Nevada Farm Bureau Federation. Farmer/rancher members and associate (non-farmer/rancher) member relies join and participate in their local county Farm Bureau organization.

Our Leaders: Nevada Farm Bureau has a host of agricultural leaders serving in various capacities.

The Nevada Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors consists of each county Farm Bureau President who is elected by that local county Farm Bureau. Officers and remaining members of the Board are elected by voting delegates at the organization's annual meeting. These include the Nevada Farm Bureau President, Vice President and the Women's Committee Chairman (who serve one-year terms) and three district directors (who serve two-year terms).

The Voting Delegate body is responsible for the finalization and approval of the organization's public policy, developed on an annual basis. Voting delegates are farmer/rancher members of their respective county Farm Bureaus.

Farm Bureau leaders from the county Farm Bureau organizations are also actively involved in various committees charged with specific responsibilities. On-going organizational committees include the Nevada Farm Bureau Women's Committee; the Natural Resources Committee and the Resolutions Committee. Various ad-hoc committees, such as the Legislative Committee, are formed at various times as required.
